It is true that you can burn a lot of calories and train hard, but to do so you must commit to such an extent that after 40-50 operating under the tool, there is a puddle of sweat. Instead, it is typical to use the elliptical to easy levels, those with cardio. If you are a beginner (in the sporting sense) may find benefit (among other things, you will not risk injury because there are no movements and / or dangerous loads), surely a sporty mid-level (in the case of the race, a jogger) can be overcharged very little because it already has a cardiovascular system and muscles that will not be particularly stimulated by an elliptical session. If you can find employment in rehabilitation (eg after a long injury or after surgery), cannot be used as a maintenance (besides, no professional uses).

Who makes home fitness (regardless of age and sex: Everyone can achieve a maximum workout) ie should know that the use of tools such as the elliptical certainly cannot give you a degree of training and cardiovascular and muscular changes that obtained with the practice in the medium to high-intensity outdoor sports (running, cycling, cross-country skiing, tennis, etc..).
